Why do we need to research salmon?

The number of Atlantic salmon Salmo salar returning to our rivers has declined by around 70% in the last 30 years. This has serious implications for the survival of the species and the angling industry that contributes many billion’s a year in revenue to countries around Europe from angling and angling tourism.
